Bill, the son of Jack and Willie Mae Brown Anderson, was born October 10, 1936 in Leesville. Bill passed away in Alexandria, Saturday September 26, 2015.
He lived his entire life in Vernon Parish. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesville where he served as a deacon until his health declined. He worked in the oil field for 35 years where he worked his way up from roust-about to drilling consultant. Bill loved his job and always believed that a job worth doing was worth doing well, whether it was washing dishes or running an oil rig. He did both well. He was a life-long cattleman and timber man.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a baby sister Mary-Helen, brothers Jake Anderson and Jerry Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Macel McInnis Anderson; three children Jeffery Anderson and wife Sandra of Midland, TX, April Ragan and husband Claude of Greensboro, NC, and William (Billy) and wife Billie of Potrero, Costa Rica; eight grandchildren; Graham Ragan, Joel Ragan, Anderson Ragan, Aidan Anderson, Anneke Anderson, Calla Anderson, Jack Anderson, and Miles Anderson; several nieces and nephews, and many very special friends.
His family extends a special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Alexandria, and to the hospice people there, especially his caretaker Danielle and nurse Alison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Leesville.
