Bianka Nicole Matlock-Smith's Obituary
A Time to Be Born
Bianka Nicole Matlock-Smith was born on December 15, 1982, to Joyce and William Matlock in Fort Polk, Louisiana. She was affectionately known to family and friends as "B." She spent her life rooted in the community she proudly called home, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Time to Build
Bianka graduated from Leesville High School as a member of the Class of 2002. During her youth, she was actively involved in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), participating in activities such as USAC and singing in the Sunshine Band.
After graduation, Bianka attended Northwestern State University, where she majored in Nursing for two years. Although she chose to leave school and enter the workforce, her passion for caring for others never wavered. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and faithfully dedicated more than 20 years to serving others in the healthcare field. Her work reflected her compassionate heart and unwavering commitment to treating every person with dignity, kindness, and respect.
In 2026, Bianka earned her certification as an EKG/ECG Technician. Shortly before her passing, she had been accepted into nursing school, where she planned to pursue her dream of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bianka had a true passion for cooking. Her love for preparing healthy, delicious meals was evident in every dish she created. Whether caring for patients or feeding those she loved, Bianka found joy in serving others. Her compassionate spirit, determination, and generous heart were among the many qualities that defined her life.
A Time to Love
Bianka deeply loved her family and friends and was well known for her caring spirit and genuine compassion for others. She marched to the beat of her own drum and embraced life with authenticity and courage. Her determination to live made her a true fighter through every illness she faced.
She was truly a daddy's girl and was lovingly spoiled by her older siblings. Bianka found joy in life's simple moments, especially those spent laughing and making memories with family and friends. Her vibrant personality and infectious spirit brought happiness wherever she went, leaving lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A Time to Transition
God never makes a mistake, and in His infinite wisdom, He saw fit to call His beloved daughter home on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Bianka's transition leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved her and were blessed to share in her life's journey. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in God's promise, knowing that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
A Time to Mourn
Bianka was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Joyce Marie Matlock; her maternal grandparents, L.C. Jones and Zella Watson; and her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Armenia Matlock.
A Time to Remember
Bianka was a devoted mother, a cherished daughter, a loving sister, and an extraordinary friend. Her kindness, strength, and vibrant spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved daughter, Kailea Leeann Smith; her father, William Matlock; her sister, Michele Hollingsworth; her brothers, John Kevin Jones (Louise) and Torrance Matlock (Sheena); along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Although her earthly journey has ended, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8
