Beverly Bass DeVries' Obituary
Funeral services for Beverly Bass DeVries, 50, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, October 14, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Roger Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Creek Baptist Cemetery in Leesville under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Beverly passed away Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Eunice Extended Care Hospital in Eunice, LA. Visitation will begin Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 2:30 PM until 9 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
Beverly was born in DeRidder, LA, to Ivan Bass and Frances Irene Marshall Bass and was a graduate of DeRidder High School. After marrying, she followed her military husband all over the world. She was formerly employed by Phelps Correctional Center in DeQuincy, La, as an accounting clerk and had also been employed in a bank. She was also a homemaker. After battling MS for many years, she is finally at peace with her heavenly Father.
Survivors include her son, Spc. Michael DeVries of Schofield Barracks, HI; daughter, Sarah DeVries of Federal Heights, CO; brother, Paul Bass of Pasadena, TX; sister, Doris Bass of Baton Rouge, LA; nephew, Eddie Iglinsky, two great nieces, Alyssa Rhoten and Maci Iglinsky and great nephew, Aaron Broussard.
