Betty Carolyn Gaskin Taylor's Obituary
Betty Carolyn Gaskin Taylor, 77, of Anacoco, Louisiana, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Leesville, Louisiana.
Betty was born on May 31, 1948, in Ajo, Arizona. She was known for her deep love of family, gentle strength, and warm spirit. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her right back.
Her home was her heart. She enjoyed sewing, spending time outdoors, caring for those around her, and sharing stories with family and friends. She also had a special gift in the kitchen and was well known for her candy making and baking. Her peanut butter brittle was especially cherished and will be remembered as a sweet reflection of the love she shared so freely.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Taylor of Leesville, LA; her daughter, Mary Jo Peavy of Leesville, LA; her grandchildren, Erin Smart of Newark, OH; Alex Taylor and wife Angie of Leesville, LA; Micah Taylor and wife Charlene of Willow Springs, MO; Scott Taylor and wife Hailey of Leesville, LA; and Cheyenne Paul and husband Geoffrey of Anacoco, LA; along with 12 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family members whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger David Taylor; her daughter, Sonja Marleen Taylor; her granddaughter, Autumn Rae Taylor; her brothers, Milton and Jarvis; and her sisters, Shirley, Malvis, and Hazel.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM on March 7, 2026, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco, Louisiana.
