Sitting on a table in Ms. Betty’s living room is a brightly colored sign that says “Live, Laugh, Love”. What a perfect description of who she was and how she lived. After losing her husband Bill in 2003, she chose to stand up and live and blessed her friends and family with 10 amazing years. She and Bill met in college and married 1955 in La Rochelle, France and proceeded to live and travel across the United States and the world, raising three boys in the process, laughing all the way. And as for Love, anyone who knew Ms. Betty knew that Love was all she had to give and she gave all that she had. And of these, the greatest is Love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Summitt.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Summitt & wife, Kayla of Anacoco, LA, Jerry Summitt of Conway, AR & Steve Summitt & wife, Lisa of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Jennifer Chaney & husband, Lance of Anacoco, LA, Jessica Poteet & husband Jared of DeRidder, LA, Kyle Summitt of Anacoco, LA & Josh Summitt of Conway, AR and great grandchildren, Ashylnn Chaney, Rylee Summitt, Caleb Chaney, Tylar Summitt, Logan Poteet and Ace Poteet.
