Betty Jane Dutcher's Obituary
Betty Jane Dutcher, 93, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2014, at 1:30 P.M. with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel located in DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Wayne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 5 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and will continue on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 9:00 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.
She was born and grew up in Toledo, Ohio. She married Paul in 1942, and remained happily married for 71 years. They have lived together in DeRidder since 1972, with previous residences in Alexandria, LA., Mississippi, Arkansas and Ohio.
Betty loved her children, Janet, Paula and David dearly and was so proud of them, their accomplishments, the outstanding adults they became and how caring and generous they were.
After raising her 3 children, Betty worked as a secretary at West Bros. General Office for over 10 years. In 1986, she became a Pink Lady at Beauregard Memorial Hospital where she served for 20 years with over 7000 hours of volunteer service. For 9 years she served as secretary of the Auxiliary Board. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, DeRidder, and participated in the Mary Martha Circle as the Spiritual Chairman.
Those that have preceded her in death are her parents, Albert and Rachel Dilley; brothers, Vernon, Russell and Richard; sisters, Hazel Conway, Edna Reese, Doris Green and Ruth Johnston. Still living is 1brother, Donald and wife Pat Dilley of Toledo, Ohio. Betty's surviving family are her husband, Paul; daughters, Janet Hoffpauir and Paula Walker and husband, Kenneth; son, David Dutcher and wife Judy; grandsons, Kevin Walker and wife Christie and Andrew Walker and wife Claire and a great grand-daughter, Bella.
