Bertha Estelle Nolde's Obituary
Funeral services for Ms. Bertha Estelle Nolde, 90, of Leesville will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be held at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Ms. Nolde was born on December 1, 1927 in Vernon Parish and was a lifelong resident. She passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Leesville.
She was a graduate of Pickering High School and McNeese College. During her high school and college years she played both softball and basketball. She was an avid fan and season ticket holder of Pickering High School Football. Ms. Nolde was an independent and strong woman who loved doting on her nephews and nieces, and was always quick with a smile to anyone she met. After retiring from many years of service at Fort Polk, she was able to spend more time doing the things she loved such as caring for her mother, tending her cows, and other outdoor activities to include hunting and fishing.
Ms. Nolde is preceded in death by her parents: Rudolph and Irene Spradley Nolde; Four Brothers: Robert R. Nolde, George W. Nolde, Richard E. Nolde, and Hubert E. Nolde; One Nephew: Tommy Nolde.
She is survived by eight nieces, one nephew, a sister – in- law and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of those who helped care for Aunt Bertha to include, The Woodlands Nursing Home, Byrd and Deer Creek Hospitals, Dr. Lubbos, Dr. Sakali, Dr. Alammar, Dr. Lord, Guardian Hospice, and her dear caretaker for the past few years, Joyce Partridge.
