Benjamin Fletcher Polson, Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for Ben F. Polson, Jr, 91, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with Rev. Lindsey Burns and Rev. Brian Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Sugartown Cemetery in Sugartown, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M., Wednesday, June 16, 2010, and from 8 A.M. until time of the service, Thursday, June 17, 2010, all in the funeral home. Mr. Polson passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010, in Westwood Manor Nursing Home in DeRidder.
Mr. Polson was born in Fullerton, LA, and lived in DeRidder for most of his life. He was a former employee of Crosby Chemicals in DeRidder and was retired from Meadwestvaco Corp. in DeRidder where he was a water tender. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII in the European Theater.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Ray McFatter Polson of DeRidder; fourteen nieces and nephews, Betty S. Compton and husband Tom of Pitkin, LA, Raymond M. Polson and wife Lavette of Shreveport, LA, Merry Ina Gerrish of Calhoun, GA, Roy "Roddy" Dennis and wife Sherry of Ocala, FL, John B. Hey of South Borough, MA, Judy Houle of DeRidder, George W. Deemer and wife Dixie of MI, Greg Deemer of MI, Jerome Richard and wife Kathy of Church Point, LA, Gordon Richard and wife Liz of Abbeville, LA, Elliotte Richard and wife of Toni of CO, Chris Robichaux and husband Ron of AR, Gary McFatter of DeRidder, and George R. McFatter and wife Penny of Moss Bluff, LA.
