Ben Andrew Bowers' Obituary
Funeral services for Ben Andrew Bowers, 86, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18th, at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Leesville with Bro. Wayne Chance officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, July 17th, at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the church.
Ben, the son of Frank W. and Maggie M. Brown Bowers, was born June 29, 1929, in Woodsworth, LA. He passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in Leesville, LA.
Mr. Bowers served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years, Melba Bowers; children, Tywanda Bowers and William Terry Bowers; brother, Fred Willy Bowers; sisters, Hazel Bowers and Bessie Mae Kotralo and grandchildren, James Hardin & Shannon Reid.
He is survived by his son, Frank Andrew Bowers of Leesville; daughters, Glennys Marie Bowers of Leesville, Nelda Rose Carder of Avon Lake, OH and Bennie Ann Willer of Loveland, CO; brother, Frank Arnold Bowers of Austin, TX; sister, Helen Marie Stewart of El Paso, TX; ten grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
