Barbara Ellen Chitty's Obituary
Barbara Ellen Chitty, 85, of DeRidder, entered peacefully into rest on Friday, April 30, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Barbara was born on February 16, 1936 to Worley P. and Tora Dozier Thompson in Elizabeth, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 1:00PM until Funeral Service begins at 2:00 PM, at Temple Baptist Church with Craig Chitty officiating the service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, DeRidder, LA at a later date.
Barbara was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She had a servants heart and loved to help. She loved sharing her cooking with anyone.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marilyn Graves (Danny) of Benton, MO, Craig Chitty (Zhenya) of DeRidder, LA, Carolyn Chitty (Brian Melancon) of Sulphur, LA and Sharolyn Rudd (Jim) of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Ralph Thompson (Nancy) of DeRidder, LA and Rusty Thompson of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Twila Wascom (Rex) of Mount Hermon, LA, Adam Graves (Bethany) of Benton, MO, Steven Chitty of Joplin, MO, Sydni, Kalen and Troy Striedel of DeRidder, LA, DJ Striedel of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Artem Shakirov (Molly) of DeRidder, LA; great-grandchildren, Coy Reeves (Kelsey) of Longville, LA, Laney Streets of DeRidder, LA, Landon and Shaelee Graves of Benton, MO and Charlie V. Shakirov of DeRidder, LA; great-great-grandchildren, Luke and Henry Reeves of Longville, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Troy M. Chitty; parents, Worley P. and Tora Dozier Thompson; siblings, brother: Buddy Thompson, brother: Claude Thompson, infant twin sisters: Elaine and Allene Thompson, sister: Dorothy Thompson Embrey, brother: Hugh “Shorty” Thompson, brother: Henry Thompson, infant brother: William James Thompson, brother: Willard Thompson; father-n-law and mother-n-law: Jessie L. and Clara H. Chitty .
