B. G. Lewis' Obituary
Bobby Gene “BG” Lewis died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 after living a long full life of 88 years, 7 months, and 7 days. Mr. Lewis was born October 23, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jerry and Ruth Evans Lewis. He spent his childhood in Natchitoches Parish, graduated from Saline High School and attended NSU.
During World War II he served with the Navy and following the war he served with the Air Force and Navy Reserves. Following his military service B.G. worked in the oil industry in Houston. For the past 50 years he made his home in Leesville where he was a realtor, tree farmer and friend to many.
He was predeceased by his wives Joy Montgomery Lewis and Betty Killian Lewis; grandparents, Martin Bunyan and Delilah Cloud Evans; mother, father and brother, Donald Ray Lewis.
Left to cherish his memory are his cousins, Max “Buddy” Evans and Sidney Evans, Jr. of Natchitoches, Joan Kelly of Pineville, Tyrone Evans of New Orleans, Bruce Evans of Baton Rouge, Janice Leach of Florien, Barbara Rogers of Shreveport and Richard Evans, Sr. of Converse, and his many friends in Leesville. The family would like to especially express its appreciation to his friend, Jim Shapkoff and his caregivers, Dr. Hanna Lubbos, Lela Kimble, Ann Ashwater, James and Kim Day.
Per his request there will be no service and his cremains will be spread on the land he loved.
