Arthur "Buddy" Dowden's Obituary
Funeral services for Arthur Louis Dowden “Buddy”, 69, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Wallace Palmer and Bro. Tinker Hillman officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24th, at 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arthur, the son of Louie David and Dorothy McConathy Dowden, was born August 11, 1945, in Vernon Parish, LA. He passed away at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, Wednesday, June 23rd.
Mr. Dowden was a member and Deacon at Good Hope Baptist Church. He loved working in his garden, and spending time with his dogs, and his mule, Festus. Buddy was a man who loved to laugh and to make people laugh, but he was most happy when he was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Lee Dowden.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy M. Dowden of Anacoco; son, Alan Dowden & wife Karen of Minden, LA; daughter, Amy Alford & husband Bill of Allen, TX; sisters, Kathy & husband Charles Addison of Anacoco, LA, Ailene Dowden of Colorado & Pam & Rod Perkins of Arkansas; grandchildren, Magen & Daniel Williams, Hunter Alford & Courtney Lafitte and great granddaughter, Hallie Hightower.
Mr. Buddy was a man who loved his overalls and to be comfortable. His request was that his friends who attend his service be comfortable as well in overalls and blue jeans.
