Ansley's Obituary
Funeral Services for Ansley L. (A.L) Bond of DeRidder, will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, at 2 P.M at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of DeRidder. Officiating will be Rev. Roger Gill. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 5 P.M.-9 P.M. and Friday June 9, from 9A.M. till time of service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Ansley, the son of Huey and Arlie Brister Bond was born June 11, 1937 in Pitkin, LA. He passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in DeRidder, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother; Edwin Bond, sisters; Marlene Buxton, Virginia Carroll, daughters; Pamela Bond, Joylynn Bond Johnson and son; Nathan Lawrence Bond.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Scarborough Schales Bond, daughter; Deborah Ramirez of Barstow, CA., son; Robert Bond of Phoeniz, AZ, stepsons; Douglas L. Schales and wife Jess of Ardsley, NY., Daniel L. Schales and wife Tammy of Ruston, LA., stepdaughters; Belinda Norred of DeRidder, LA., and Marisa Richwine of Florien, LA.
He is also survived by sisters; Arlene Moore of Anacoco, LA., Sharon Kaye Walters of Livington, TX., Nona Faye Hillary of Wichata Falls, TX., 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Ansley was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in California. He returned to LA. and retired as a Master Diesel Mechanic at Fort Polk, LA.
Ansley was a very gentle, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was active in all aspects of church and instilled the love of God in his children and grandchildren. His life radiated his deep faith and presented an example of a wonderful Christian man to all who knew him. He will truly be missed.
