Annie Lois Weathers' Obituary
Funeral services for Annie Lois Weathers, 80, of Leesville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville with Bro. Randy Boswell. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery in Leesville. There will be a repast at the Comfort Suites Meeting Room.
Visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2021 from 5:00 P.M– 8:00 P.M in the funeral home.
Annie was born on November 4, 1940 in Cottonwood, Alabama to her parents, Samford & Cora Wilson Barfield. She passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Texas.
Annie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, mother-in –law, sister, aunt and friend. She worked as a caretaker to many at the Louisiana State School until her retirement. Her other occupations included a boat builder, cook, clerk and many other types of jobs. She was never afraid of any type of work.
Her hobbies included writing stories, reading, cooking dancing, traveling and going fishing and visiting with people.
Her favorite and most loved role was being a wife, mother and Grannie. She was a Christian woman and loved the Lord. She was blessed to see five generations of her family.
Annie is preceded in death by her husband; Asa Jack Weathers, parents, granddaughter; Danielle Renee Clanton, son-in-law: Christopher Allen Mitchell Sr., brothers; Ernest Barfield, Marvett Barfield, Buddy Barfield, Sonny Barfield, sisters; Hazel Thomilson, Maudel Barfield.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons; Asa Eugene Weathers (Angela), Artie Ray Weathers (Julie) both of Houston, TX., daughters; Cora Dianne"Suzan" Mitchell of Pickering, LA., Eva Mae Clanton (Danny) of Franklin, LA., Melba Rita Etheridge (Bobby) of Rosepine, LA., Catherine Renee Key (Troy) of Ocean Springs, MS., brother; Bo Barfield of Cottonwood, AL , sister; Corrine Henry of Cottonwood, AL., 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
