Annamarie Elizabeth Tyson's Obituary
Funeral services for Annamarie Elizabeth Tyson, 86, of Leesville will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m in the funeral home.
Annamarie (Oma as she was known to her family) was born in Bad Muenster, West Germany and she was one of 6 children born to Jacob & Frieda Mattern.
She met her late husband and married him in 1955 and they moved more than 20 times with the military. In 1974 they decided to settle in Leesville and make it their home. She worked out on Fort Polk until she retired in 1991.
Annamarie loved her church, singing in the choir, and spending time with her family and friends. Her and her husband traveled and she loved seeing her family.
During Christmas time, Annamarie and her husband, Vernon, would decorate their home and yard and loved watching the people come by to see all of them.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon A. Tyson, Her parents, 4 brothers and her grandson, Austin Tyson.
She is survived by her Three Children: Barbara (Craig) Horvath of Copperas Cove, TX., Vernon O. (Kathy) Tyson of Leesville, LA., Robert (Ruthy) Tyson of DeRidder, LA.; Grandchildren: Renee Foley, Christina Troy, Vernon Tyson Jr., Ryan Tyson, Joseph (Kelli) Tyson, Ashleigh Reed, and Lensie (Justin) Stanley; 11 Great Grandchildren; One Sister: Marianna Mattern Wilbert; And a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
