Anna Welch Smart's Obituary
Funeral services for Anna Welch Smart, 82, of Leesville will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery in Leesville under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday in the church.
Ms. Smart passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her home in Leesville. She was born on July 25, 1938 in Evans, Louisiana to her parents James E. and Pairlee Fonville Welch.
Anna married Harold Smart, and they had one daughter, Jana. Anna and Harold owned and operated Harold’s One Stop store on Toledo Bend Lake. It was a complete gas, grocery, bait and tackle store. Anna also ran the Candy Apple Gift Shop in Leesville until Harold’s passing.
Later in life Anna met and married George Armijo at the First United Pentecostal Church and they were married. They enjoyed traveling and dining out until his passing. Anna loved to spend time with her family and she enjoyed cooking for them. She was especially proud of her biscuits and divinity.
She loved decorating for all the holidays, especially Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughter Jana, husband George, sister Willie Mae, sister Ruth, and brother Hansford.
A special thanks to Anna’s 3 close friends – Marilyn, Rose, & Jenny. They have helped her throughout the years and were very special to her,also a thanks to Herb for keeping her yard in tip-top shape for the last ten years.
Anna is survived by one sister, Levea Johnson, and numerous nephews and nieces.
