Angela "Angie" Renea Cox Strother's Obituary
Angela “Angie” Renea Cox Strother, 65, of Hicks, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with her health.
Born on December 28, 1959, in San Diego, California, to Elaine and Troy Cox, Angie lived a life filled with love, devotion, and care for others. She married the love of her life, Matt Strother, and together they shared 28 beautiful years of marriage.
A true country girl at heart, Angie found joy in the simple things—spending time outdoors, tending to her garden, and caring for her beloved Yorkies. She loved camping, fishing, and family gatherings, always cherishing time spent with her loved ones. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her home and into her career as a registered nurse, where she dedicated herself to helping others.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Troy Cox, and her sister, LaQuita.
She is survived by her loving husband, Matt Strother of Hicks, Louisiana; her son, Craig Parady; her stepson, Matt Strother Jr. (Christy); her stepdaughters, Amy Flinn and Tiffany Ming; her sister, Dodie Taras; her grandchildren, Ashlynn and Keauxdy Strother, Zoe and Brooklyn Parady; and her nephews, Dalan Hadnot (Kyndall) and Reese Hadnot.
Angie will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness that will be cherished forever.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Flactor Baptist Church in Hicks, Louisiana, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service to honor Angie’s life will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Flactor Baptist Church, officiated by Brother Mike Crysel, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. The church will be open from 10 am to the time of service on Saturday, February 22nd. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate her memory.
