Andy Goins Jr.'s Obituary
Andy “Buddy” Goins Jr. was born on April 21, 1943 and passed away in his home on November 9, 2021 with his wife by his side. Buddy lived life to the fullest and he never met a stranger. He could fix just about anything with some duct tape and a few nails. If you hung around Buddy long enough, he would teach you a thing or two.
He married Shirley Jarrell, the love of his life, on October 17, 1964. In February 1981, God brought a beautiful baby girl into their lives, Kimberly. Buddy always said she was handpicked just for him and Shirley. Kimberly went on to bring 4 amazing children into the world. Buddy loved these granddaughters probably more than he loved Shirley and Kim. He always said Shirley spoiled them too much, but everyone knew who spoiled them the most - Pawpaw Buddy! Buddy would do anything for his “girls” from fixing a chain on the bike to making a Tiktok video.
He did what they asked, no matter what. Buddy is preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Keel Goins Cryer; Sisters, Juanitta Goins Sheffield, Ruth Elaine Goins Vallee, Geraldine Jerri Cryer Zills and Brother, James Goins.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Jarrell Goins; One daughter, Kimberly Goins Jeane and husband Nathan; Four granddaughters, Chloe, Daisy, Stormy and Audi; One sister, Glenda Jan Cryer Burns and husband Eugene; Brother in law, Roland Zills; Numerous nieces and nephews; Friends close to his heart, Robert Cook, Jim and Kathy Black and Javier Vizcaino.
Officiating the service will be Bro. Wade Carrol and Bro. Daniel Jarrell.
Pallbearers, Nathan Jeane, Melvin Jeane, Kenneth Simmons, Brad Kay, Greg Zills and Billy Benjamin. Honorary pallbearer Grason Jeane.
The family would like to thank the staff at Willis Knighton Bossier Health Center, the 911 operator, and the Louisiana State Police for all their help and support for Ms. Shirley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 beginning at 5pm for friends at the Evans Congregational Methodist Church until the time of the service on Sunday at 11 am at the church. Burial will be at Evans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
