Alvin and I were best friends for a couple years when we were about 14 years old. His family and the Mennonite community moved us to Deridder in 1961, for which I will always be grateful. As a token of friendship, Alvin gave me a bamboo coin bank which I still use for my very special coins. Alvin will always hold a special place in my life.
So very sorry to hear of your husband's/father's passing. We were neighbors of Don and Mandena all our lives and attended school with the children. Fond memories of fishing in their beautiful pond and watching Don and the boys tend the beautiful bountiful pastures and livestock. Know that there is going to be a very Happy Reunion Day with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and our loved ones who now await us!
