Alton Sanders' Obituary
Alton Kade “Sandy” Sanders of Anacoco, went home to be with the Lord July 2, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was 63 and was born in Leesville, LA February 26, 1945.
Sandy graduated from Leesville High School in 1963 and from Northwestern State University. He retired from the State of Louisiana, Rehabilitation Services, as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
He was a member of East Leesville Baptist Church and loved teaching Sunday school for the past 35 years.
Sandy was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Sanders, his mother, Lucille Foster Sanders and his brother Pete Sanders.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Jo Sanders of Anacoco, Louisiana; Sister Glenda Garrett of San Augustine, Texas, two sons; Scott and wife Margie Williams Sanders of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Kyle and wife Kim Sanders of Oologah, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Amber, Tori, Hunter, Justin and Skylar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to East Leesville Baptist Church Building Fund.
Funeral services will be Friday July 4, 2:00 p.m. at East Leesville Baptist Church with Rev. Gil Arthur & Rev. Jerry Key officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until services at the church.
