Alton Ray Crager's Obituary
Funeral services for Alton Ray Crager, 83, of Kurthwood, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Sunny Hill Baptist Church in Kurthwood with Rev. Mildard Monk officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday, May 25th, and on Saturday, May 26th from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
Alton, the son of Louie Sanders and Lucille Anderson Crager was born February 3, 1929, in Leesville, Louisiana He passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
He worked for the Vernon Parish Policy Jury as a road grader and a mechanic. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and the United State Air Force. He was a member of Sunny Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laverne Crager of Kurthwood; son, Jeremy Crager of Decatur, TN; daughters, Janet Foster & husband, Reese of Athens, TN and Cindy Lam; step-son, Tommy Prewitt & wife Sharon of Leesville; step-daughter, Margie Stanley & husband, Roy of Leesville; brothers, Ronald Crager of Mansfield, LA and Carl Crager of Tulsa OK; sister, Chelon Moats of Ashland KY; 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
