Almon Johnson's Obituary
Funeral services for Almon Johnson, 92, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Penfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, November 29th in the funeral home.
Almon, the son of Andrew and Minnie Haymon Johnson, was born May 10, 1920 in Vernon Parish, LA. He passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the American Legion Hospital in Jennings, LA.
Almon served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II as a B24 Gunner. After his service to our country he worked for the US Wildlife Service and retired in 1972. Then he owned and operated J's One Stop is Lake Arthur, LA for 17 years then retired back to Leesville in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Hubert, Cecil and Kyle and his grandson, John deMarshe
Almon is survived by his wife Levea Johnson; sons,Almon Dale Johnson, Andrew Johnson and John Johnson all of Leesville; daughters, Julie, husband Ronnie, Jinks of Lake Charles, LA and Rene, husband Rick, Watkins of La Plata, Maryland; sister Beulah Ward of New Roads, LA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
