Allen Dale Shaffer's Obituary
Allen Dale Shaffer, born on September 25, 1966, in Grainger, Utah, to his parents, Lester Shaffer and Wanita Ramsey Shaffer, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, in Leesville, Louisiana. He was a beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend whose spirit touched the lives of many.
He graduated from Greenbrier High School in Greenbrier, AR. Following his graduation, he proudly served his country by joining the United States Navy, a decision that defined his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor.
Upon his return from military service, Allen embarked on a fulfilling career. He worked 25 years at Exo-s, LLC in Coldwater, Michigan, before moving to Leesville in 2012. There, he continued to serve his community as a Mission Support Contractor for 12 years on Fort Polk.
He is survived by his loving dad and mom, Maynard and Wanita Cullop of Leesville, Louisiana; his son, Allen Dale Shaffer, Jr., of Union City, Michigan; his brother, Gary Shaffer (Virginia) of Leesville, Louisiana; his sisters, Tina McEathron and Donna Shaffer both of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Sara Francis (Shane Cowley) of Elk Grove, California; four grandchildren, Brenton Shaffer, Ellyanna Shaffer, Kade Shaffer, and Avayah Shaffer and his best friends, David and Missy Smith. He also leaves behind his beloved cats, Casey and Socks.
He found joy in fishing and was a devoted NASCAR fan, cheering passionately for his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Allen also had a unique passion for collecting M&M memorabilia and enjoyed the challenge of completing 3-D puzzles.
In honor of his memory, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
