Albert Clifton's Obituary
Funeral services for Albert Clifton, 82, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, April 6, 2015, at New Willow Missionary Baptist Church in Leesville, with Rev. (Dr.) Harrison Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Monday, April 6th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Clifton, the son of Serius and Leola Clifton Coleman was born, November 18, 1932, in Selma, AL. He passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, in Leesville, LA.
Mr. Clifton attended and graduated from school in Selma, AL and also attended college in Selma, AL. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 15, 1953. After twenty four years, which included two tours in Vietnam he retired as an E-8 on May 15, 1977. After retiring from the military he worked for fifteen years at C. Paul Phelps Correctional Center in DeQuincy, LA, where he also retired.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Clifton of Leesville; son, Albert Lynn Clifton & wife, Liza of Leesville; daughters, Marsha Diann Collins of Leesville & Tiffany Renee Clifton of Raleigh, NC; step-daughters, Dot Brown of Elizabeth, LA and Melissa Beatty & husband, George of DeRidder; step-son, Jimmy Shrope & wife, DD of Fields, LA nineteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Serius and Leola Clifton Coleman, his first wife, Susie Childers and sons, Eric Clifton and Darryl Clifton.
