Albert James "A.J." Kay's Obituary
Funeral services for Albert James “A.J.” Kay, 89, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Freedom Rest Baptist Church in Anacoco with the Rev. George Jeane & Rev. Harles Meylian officiating. Burial will follow in the Beach Grove Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 17th from 6:00 p.m. until time of service Wednesday, May 19th at the church.
A.J., the son of Thomas Albert and Elsie Elizabeth McGraw Kay was born on February 20, 1921 in Burr Ferry, LA. He passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010, at his residence in Anacoco, LA.
He served in the Army Air Corp for three years having served in War War II.
He was a longtime member of Freedom Rest Baptist Church. A. J. loved to fish and garden.
He was preceded in death by son Buford Kay.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Thelma Kay of Anacoco, LA, nine children, Laverne & Ronnie Atchison of Kirbyville, TX, Lillian & Alan Simmons of Anacoco, Ann & Mark Baker of Burr Ferry, James & Nancy Kay of Anacoco, Sharon & Billy Laurent of Leesville, Martha & Doug McNeely of Toledo Bend, Pamela & Edwin McCullough of Anacoco, Jerry & Cindy Kay of Burr Ferry, & Wanda Kay of Burr Ferry, 31 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
