Agnes "Granny" Hickman Welborn's Obituary
Agnes "Granny" Hickman Welborn, of DeRidder, LA went home to be with her Lord and beloved husband Russell Glen Welborn on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Agnes was a devoted wife and mother of three, she was affectionately known as "Granny" to her 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She died peacefully after a long
stay at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, LA.
Mrs. Welborn is survived by her son, Gary Welborn and his wife Faye, of Metropolitan Atlanta, GA; her daughter Gleta Welborn Anderson and her husband W.L. "Dub" Anderson of Dry Creek, LA; one brother Jeff Hickman and his wife Monica of DeRidder, LA; six grand-daughters, Kathy D'Hollosy and her husband Doug of Metropolitan Atlanta, GA; Kim Riggle and her husband John of Metropolitan Atlanta, GA; Staci Anderson of Bossier City, LA; Karla Glover and her husband Eric of Morgantown, West Virginia; Elizabeth Turner and her husband Michael of Franklin, TN and Alyson Cooper and her husband Chad of Thompson Station, TN. She is also survived by her 12 great-grandchildren, Ashton D'Hollosy; Garrett and Colt Hinton; Mackenzi and Jude Carringer; Matthew Glover;
John Wetzel and Boland Turner; Cole, Katie, Abby and Sarah Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Glen Welborn and son Wetzel Bryan Welborn.
The home-going celebration will begin with a visitation at Grace Church in DeRidder, LA on Saturday, May 5th from 5pm - 9pm. Followed by a memorial service on Sunday, May 6th, 2:00 PM, at Grace Church, officiated by Pastors George L. Glass, George Lee Glass and Jimmy Glass. Burial will be at Beauregard Cemetary in DeRidder, with funeral arrangements by Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
