Adrienne Bailey's Obituary
Adrienne Smith Bailey of Leesville (formerly of Monroe and Little Rock), died peacefully in her home on August 19. A beloved mother of three children and five grandchildren, Adrienne was an active member of her community and church.
She is the wife of Mack Bailey of Leesville. She was the former wife of Roy Q Cole, III of Baton Rouge, La. and is survived by their three children: John Cole (Carden) of Vestavia Hills, Ala., Adrienne Locke (Jeffrey) of Boston, Mass., and Mary Evelyn Kibodeaux of Arnaudville, La.; their five grandchildren Sarah Smith (15), Harper Cole (6), William Cole (4), Branden Locke (3) and Jackson Locke (1).
Adrienne was the daughter of the late Dr. Thermon B. Smith and the late Adrienne G. Tidwell (Carl); she is survived by her siblings Nathan Smith (Stephanie) of Monroe, La., Mike Smith (Patti) of Little Rock, Ark., Barbara Dunn (Jim) of Tulsa, Okla., and Carolyn Jordan of Nashville, Tenn.
Adrienne was born on July 21, 1952 in New Orleans, La. She graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock and attended Centenary College. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, The Leesville Pilot Club, and a formerly active member of the Monroe Junior League.
Adrienne is remembered by her family and friends as being a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She was an extraordinary woman of many talents who had started and run many successful businesses including Adrienne’s Gift Shop in Monroe and currently Monkey Business and The Shipping Store, both in Leesville. The family would like to thank her dedicated employees for their support and hard work. She had a wide range of passionate interests including sewing, needle-pointing and animals.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 22 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, August 23 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm prior to the memorial service at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of Leesville. The family has requested contributions be made to local charities in lieu of flowers.
