Buddy was born on July 19, 1940 in Rayville, Louisiana to his parents, Eual & Rosa Hagood Scott. He passed away on Wednesday, November 02, 2022 in Leesville.
He attended Pickering School in the 1950’s. There he met a young lady in 1956 by the name of Kathryn Wood. They fell deeply in love and were married on August 18, 1960. Shortly thereafter in 1961, they welcomed a baby girl, Sherry Lynn Scott. They were married for 53 years until death separated them. On November 8, 2013 his loving wife passed away. He continued to remain faithful to her memory until his death on November 2, 2022. During his 82 years, he was very active in many endeavors. As a boy his very first job was delivering Grit newspaper for a nickel. Afterwards he delivered the American Press out of Lake Charles. He joined the Louisiana National Guard and served as a citizen soldier for three years before he was honorably discharged. His main occupation was driving a school bus for Pickering High School for 42 years. During this time he also owned several convenience stores and an amusement business for the soldiers at Fort Polk. He served as president of the Ward 4 Water Board for 20 years.
He was a loving family man who loved to laugh and was a big jokester. His hobbies included tinkering with cars, dirt track racing, restoring a 1962 Chevy Impala, and he was an avid coin collector. He was well know and appreciated in his community. If anyone was in need and called, Buddy was there to help. He was a member of Cooper Baptist Church in Pickering, LA. Buddy was a very attentive father and grandfather. To Buddy’s surprise and delight, he discovered just one year ago that he had a son, Ron, from a previous relationship. They were over joyed to have found one another. He loved life and the Lord and left many to honor his memory.
