I didn't know that Rudy had passed, and I'm very sad. Rudy and I shared a suite at Northeast Louisiana University (now Louisiana-Monroe), and we were the first students in the history of the school to live together on campus although we were black and white. We had to petition to be able to live together, as NLU wasn't ready for total integration at that point in time. There are a few stories from that year, most of them fun, but some of them not so fun. I still remember his baby blue Mustang well!
Rudy was a fun-loving guy, and everyone who knew him loved him. That includes my two sisters who were also in Monroe. I only wish that I would have been able to keep up with him over the years.
I will keep Rudy in my thoughts and prayers and remember him fondly.
