When he pulled me out of my dark addiction and showed me the way of god he changed me forever
I cherish countless, memories of the talks he and I had. He was always well equipped with knowledge, wisdom and genuine love for whatever I had to throw at him. And he never ever sugarcoated a thing when answering me; even though I sometimes wished he had. My most treasured recollection, though tinged with sorrow, is also a very treasured memory. He was previously a member of LFA and when I say that he loved his church and his church family, I mean he unfailingly loved. And I remember us talking, and he just wept in anguish, grief and pain for the struggles happening within our church. And in that conversation and the hugs during it, we were able to recognize hope and the peace of God. We were able to find solace. 🥰
And truth be told, we would have to revisit and find solace over and over sometimes and yes, as a feisty, crazy woman I occasionally found that solace in him, waving his hands and fist in victory. 🤣We came to a great understanding of the type of love that each of us had for LFA and for Pastors Danny & Stephanie Baker. You see in those moments when we were entirely vulnerable and so brokenhearted we were able to embrace in the love of Christ I was able to witness the embodiment of profound, love, and loyalty from a wonderful man of God. He gave some of the greatest hugs, and some of the wisest advice. There are so so many that will miss him in so many ways. We will grieve, we will cry, we will mourn for days, weeks, months, and years. I can’t see you Yet we will celebrate that he is with The Lord. Let’s continue to pray for the family and pray for each other. Let’s continue to recognize how special we all are to have known him and what a wonderful gift he was.
Bro. Rooker was very special to me and my family. To know him was to love him. He was a kind and gentle soul we loved him dearly and will miss him so much. Some people come into your life for a moment. Some you will remember for a lifetime. He is definitely a lifetime’s for us. Praying for his family and loved ones🙏🏻❤️
I always loved our talks! I often think of Brother Larry when I go for a run! He would, many times, take a picture of the finish line after one of his half-marathons and send it to me and then share of the different challenges of that particular run. He was a constant learner and genuinely loved you once he met you! I will miss him! Brother Larry, you've run your race and finished now! Go get that crown!!
There are so many memories I could shsre. Larry was the thinker with great ideas which he would convince me on and I would put it into place and he moved on to his next idea. He truly had a heart for the children and the staff. We were blessed to have a great group of people and will always cherish our years working together.
